Making a Difference

This year marks the 150th anniversary of organized camp in America. From the beginning, camp has positively impacted children, youth, and adults — changing millions of lives through the power and magic of the camp experience.

To honor the camp tradition of making the world a better place, ACA camps are participating in a week of community service from July 17–23, 2011. When we teach children and youth to contribute to the world around them, we are fostering personal growth and development. And with over 60 percent of parents reporting that their child continues to participate in activities learned at camp, this service project initiative will help plant the seeds of community service . . . one child at a time.
